Fescue Fertilization & Weed Control
ROUND 1: Apply a high nitrogen mix to promote green growth and optimum shoots and strength for the summer heat. Potassium is also applied to help regulate a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth and prevent disease. Pre and Post Emergent weed control is also applied to control future weeds and pop up weeds. The Nitrogen ratio is increased at this time as the grass begins to come out of its winter dormant state. (Applied late February through the end of March)
Round 2: Apply a high nitrogen mix to promote green growth and optimum shoots and strength for the summer heat. (Applied late March through the end of May)
Round 3: Apply a low nitrogen mix to help maintain green growth, optimum shoots, and strength for the summer heat. High Potassium is also applied to help promote a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth and prevent disease. Post weed control is also applied to control pop up weeds. (Applied late May through early of July)
Round 4: Apply a medium strength nitrogen mix to promote growth, optimum shoots, and strength for the summer heat. Potassium is also applied to help regulate a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth through the heat. High iron is also applied to keep the grass green. (Applied late June through early August)
Round 5: A Post Emergent weed control is applied to control pop up weeds and help prepare the turf for aerating and overseeding. (Applied August through early September)
Round 6: Apply a nitrogen mix to promote green growth and optimum shoots and strength for the summer heat. Potassium is also applied to help regulate a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth and prevent disease. (THIS IS ALSO WHEN AERATE AND OVERSEEDING WILL BE COMPLETED) (Applied September through October)
Round 7: Apply a high nitrogen mix to promote green growth and optimum shoots and strength for the summer heat. Potassium is also applied to help regulate a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth and prevent disease. (Applied November through early December)
Round 8: A soil amendment is added to help the soil keep the right PH level to promote a healthy and well balanced turf throughout the year. (Applied late December through early February)
Round 2: Apply a high nitrogen mix to promote green growth and optimum shoots and strength for the summer heat. Potassium is also applied to help regulate a plant's carbon dioxide. This will help the heartiness and vigor of the grass growth and prevent disease. Pre and Post Emergent weed control is also applied to control future weeds and pop up weeds.
